Community Food Distribution | Every Third Saturday

If your household could use food support—or you know someone who could, please join us for our monthly Community Food Distribution. Our Outreach Ministry will be on hand to welcome you, provide food, offer prayer, and share the hope of salvation through Jesus Christ. We invite you to pass this information along to a neighbor, friend, or family member who may benefit.
Outreach Ministry Volunteer Opportunities:
Every Third Wednesday | Ward 8 Produce Hub Support
Volunteer hours: 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Help our Outreach Ministry prepare for and host the Capital Area Food Bank’s Ward 8 Produce Hub. Volunteers support the work of serving our neighbors and helping the day run smoothly from preparation through cleanup. Please arrive no later than noon, as cleanup will conclude by 1:00 p.m.
Every Third Friday | Preparation for Community Resource Day
Volunteer hours: 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
Friday is our primary setup day, and there is plenty of meaningful work to share! Volunteers may help unload deliveries, organize food and supplies, set up ministry areas, prepare equipment, and assist with other Outreach needs. Our goal is to have as much as possible ready before Saturday morning so we can give our full attention to serving our community with excellence. Please arrive no later than 7:00 p.m., as all work will conclude by 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, September 19 | Third Saturday Community Resource Day
Volunteer hours: 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Join us as we welcome individuals and families for a day of care and community support. Help distribute food, assist with resources, welcome our guests, and support the Outreach team throughout the day. Please arrive no later than 2:00 p.m., as service and cleanup will conclude by 3:00 p.m.
There is a place for you to make a difference at The Temple of Praise! Our Outreach Ministry invites you to help us care for our neighbors through the Capital Area Food Bank’s Ward 8 Produce Hub every third Wednesday and TOP Community Resource Day every third Saturday, both held at The Temple of Praise.
Serving our community begins long before the doors open. Throughout the week, volunteers help prepare food, organize supplies, and get everything ready to welcome our neighbors with care. Whether you can help behind the scenes or serve alongside us during distribution, your time and willingness matter.
Jesus reminds us in Matthew 25:35–36 (NLT):
“For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.”
These words remind us that meeting everyday needs is a meaningful expression of our faith. From distributing food and providing resources to praying with families and offering a warm welcome, each act of service helps someone feel seen, valued, and cared for. As we continue Building a People to Build, we are building community by putting God’s love into action.
